Ask About Fall 2025 ScheduleHow Learning Actually Works
We break down financial analysis into manageable pieces. Each phase builds on what came before — think months, not weeks.
Foundation Reading
You'll start with income statements and basic ratios. Lots of practice reading real company reports from Thai and regional businesses. Some people find this tedious at first — that's normal.
Pattern Recognition
Balance sheets and cash flow statements get added here. You'll compare companies in similar industries and start noticing differences. This phase tends to click after week 10 or so.
Industry Context
Tourism, manufacturing, agriculture — different sectors work differently in Thailand. We spend time on what matters in each industry. Guest speakers share how they actually use these skills at work.
Independent Projects
You pick a company or sector that interests you and do deeper analysis. Your instructors review your work and point out what you're missing. Results vary — some projects are excellent, others need revision.
What You Actually Learn
These are core competencies for financial analysis work. You won't master everything — nobody does — but you'll have working knowledge in each area.
Statement Interpretation
Reading financial documents quickly and spotting important numbers. You'll practice with reports from SET-listed companies and regional businesses.
Ratio Analysis
Calculating and interpreting liquidity, profitability, and efficiency metrics. We focus on ratios that matter most for Thai market conditions.
Trend Spotting
Looking at multi-year data to identify patterns. You'll learn which trends signal real problems versus seasonal fluctuations.
Comparative Analysis
Benchmarking companies against competitors and industry standards. Southeast Asian markets have specific characteristics that affect these comparisons.
Report Writing
Presenting findings clearly in written form. Your reports need to explain what the numbers mean to people who aren't finance specialists.
Data Tools
Working with Excel and basic database queries. We cover the specific functions and formulas used in professional financial analysis.
Real Business Context
Our case studies come from actual Thai companies — manufacturing firms in Ayutthaya, tourism operators in Phuket, agricultural exporters in the northeast. You'll see how financial analysis applies to different business models.
We bring in finance professionals who work at these companies. They share what analysis looks like in practice, including the messy parts that don't appear in textbooks.
- Case studies from 20+ Thai companies across six sectors
- Guest speakers who actually do this work daily
- Focus on Thai accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Small group sessions with industry-specific examples
